Pléasc‘ – Togra pobail mar chuid de dheireadh seachtaine Cuimneachán an ‘Mine’ 1917-2017 i gCois Fharraige

Tá an dráma bunaithe ar thragóid a tharla nuair a phléasc mianach 100 bliain ó shin ar thrá sa Lochán Beag i gCois Fharraige, Indreabhán. Maraíodh naonúr. Léiriú amuigh faoin aer ar an Trá Mhóir in Indreabhán, gar don áit ar tharla an tubaiste féin a bheidh ann. Athinsint ar leith a bheidh sa dráma ar scéal a bhí go mór sa nuacht idirnáisiúnta ag an am. Togra pobail de chuid mhuintir Chois Fharraige é seo agus beidh an pobal féin páirteach i mbeagnach gach gné den dráma.  Scríobh Eoin Mac Diarmada an script agus tá an dráma faoi stiúir Brendan Murray. Tá baint dhíreach ag Eoin leis an scéal féin mar gur bhásaigh a shin-sheanathair Éamonn Mac Diarmada nuair a phléasc an mianach seo.

Dáta: 16 Meitheamh 2017

Am: 8i.n

Áit: An Trá Mhóir, Indreabhán, Co. na Gaillimhe

Ticéid: Seo ócáid saor in aisce do chách ach moltar duit do thicéad a chur in áirithe go luath mar beidh teorainn ar na huimhreacha. Ticéid le fáil ar 091 505855 nó pleasc2017@gmail.com

Tá brón orainn ach tá orainn a fhógairt go bhfuil ár dticéid uile tugtha amach againn do Pléasc. Tá Fíbín thar a bheith sásta leis an suim a cuireadh sa léiriú seo agus ar an drochuair mar gheall ar an méid spáis atá againn níl muid in ann ticéad a thabhairt do gach duine. Tá 750 ticéad tugtha amach againn ag an tráth seo agus an imní is mó atá orainn ná do shábháilteacht an phobail agus teastaíonn uainn go mbainfidh daoine taitneamh as an seó ar bhealach compordach chomh maith.

Ba mhaith linn buíochas a ghlacadh le gach duine as a gcuid tacaíocht iontach agus as an suim i bPléasc agus i léiriúcháin eile le Fíbín.

Tá an dráma seo á léiriú le tacaíocht ó Scéim na nEalaíontóirí sa Phobal de chuid na Comhairle Ealaíon, á bainistiú ag Create. Fuair an tionscnamh tacaíocht ó Ealaín na Gaeltachta, Foras na Gaeilge, agus Chomhairle Chontae na Gaillimhe chomh maith.

Pléasc‘ – A community project being performed as part of a programme of commemorative events  Cuimneachán an ‘Mine’ 1917-2017 in Cois Fharraige
The play is based on a tragedy that happened 100 years ago when a leftover WW1 mine exploded on a beach in Loughaun Beg, Cois Fharraige, Inverin. Nine local men were killed. Pléasc will be performed outdoors on the beach on Trá Mhór in Inverin, within close proximity to where the tragedy occurred. This is a very special play – the story made international headlines at the time. Pléasc is a community project and members of the Cois Fharraige community will be involved in almost every aspect of the play’s creation.  Eoin Mac Diarmada has written the script and the play will be directed by Brendan Murray. Eoin has a direct connection with the story as his great-grandfather Éamonn Mac Diarmada was killed in the explosion.
Date: 16th June 2017

Time: 8pm

Place: Trá Mhóir, Inverin, Co. Galway

Tickets: This is a free event for all but early booking is advised as numbers will be limited. Tickets can be booked on 091 505855 or by e-mail on pleasc2017@gmail.com

Unfortunately we have to announce that we have allocated all our tickets for Pléasc. We are overwhelmed by the interest that has been shown in our production and unfortunately due to the amount of space we have available we can only accommodate so many people. We have allocated 750 tickets at this stage and our main concern is for public safety and want people to enjoy the show in a comfortable way.

We want to thank everyone for their amazing support and interest in Pléasc and other Fíbín work.

This play is supported by The Arts Council’s Artist in the Community Scheme, managed by Create. This project is also supported by Ealaín na Gaeltachta, Foras na Gaeilge, and Galway County Council.
